Hello Again!  Do you believe it’s April 1st?  I just can’t get over the fact that the months are going so fast. This was a good meeting. Names were given for the three positions of first vice president, second vice president, and treasurer. Good luck to all. We have some great seminars coming up this month – one on gambling habits and another for reverse mortgages which will be very interesting. PLUS, the Heart Walk is coming up April 27 at ITC. Fran and Sandy were collecting money for their trips, and Mary told us when our AC trips will be. Ah Spring. The best is yet to come.

Tuesday, April 8, Diann had a speaker about gambling (not to) and lunch. This is the first of four programs sponsored MOMAC, the Mount Olive Municipal Alliance Committee. On the 9th, the Superintendent of Schools, Rosalie Lamonte invited us to see “Beauty and the Beast” at the high school. The play was great – felt like we were attending a Broadway production. The students also served us a tasty treat afterwards. The next day, we were all invited to the Middle School for a musical showcase. We are really fortunate to have such talented students in Mount Olive, as well as exceptional teachers! At the Middle School we were also served refreshments. The teachers have been very generous to us. Guess old age isn’t so bad after all…

Today is April 15 and our second meeting of the month. The meeting began with a speaker explaining reverse mortgages. Diann talked about the Month of May events – golf, bocce, the senior prom (this is one event you HAVE to go to), tai chi, and more! She also handed out Passports for Active Living. The people who do the most exercising will get prizes at the Senior Picnic (that will be July 29 – but more on the festivities later). Call her (973-691-2024) to sign up.

The next meeting will be about the election of the three officers. Please come to it. The 50/50 was three prizes of $14, and, as always, it was a big hit. Ann Danello celebrated a birthday in March. April birthdays  were celebrated by Ronnie Thorsell, Frank Devins, Arlene Steventon, and Rich Hergert, (Hey Rich, what’s in your wallet?)

See you all next month!  Jean
